The GT4 driver is tailored for players aiming to reduce sub-optimal spin rates, typically over 3,000 RPMs, to achieve a more penetrating ball flight. Its dual-spin control settings allow golfers to select between aggressive spin reduction and a balanced, stable setting with moderate spin reduction, facilitated by flipping an 11-gram and a 3-gram weight between two positions. With a 430cc profile, GT4 is more compact than GT2 and GT3.
Performance enhancements start with its Seamless Thermoform Crown and Split Mass Construction, where Titleist engineers have strategically distributed internal mass to maintain back-weighted stability while driving the CG forward for optimal spin reduction.
Each GT model features an ultra-lightweight crown made from a new Proprietary Matrix Polymer, providing Titleist engineers with unprecedented internal weight positioning options for enhanced performance. This crown, seamlessly wrapped to the sole through advanced thermoforming, ensures a clean look without visible seams.
Transitioning to a multi-material construction, Titleist prioritized preserving their classic sound. The unique acoustic properties of the Proprietary Matrix Polymer allowed fine-tuning of the club’s sound and feel, while maximizing weight-saving benefits from the new GT construction.
The weight savings from the GT's Thermoform Crown allowed Titleist engineers to optimally re-position discretionary weight within the clubhead. Mass was strategically shifted both forward, enhancing speed through CG placement, and backward, ensuring stable, high-MOI performance. The CG placements vary across the three models, giving players the flexibility to find the ideal combination of speed, launch angle, and spin for their games, each offering a unique setup.
Improvements in internal construction and weight distribution have enabled greater aerodynamic optimization across the three GT models, a breakthrough previously unattainable due to design constraints. The GT drivers now feature refined profiles that reduce drag and increase clubhead speed.
The GT’s exceptionally fast face is powered by two key technologies. The upgraded titanium Speed Ring reinforces and stabilizes the clubface perimeter, maximizing ball speed for center strikes. Additionally, Variable Face Thickness (VFT) maintains consistently fast ball speeds on off-center hits, reducing excessive distance loss.
The GT models feature new face graphics designed to frame the ball squarely at address. Inspired by Tour player prototyping and feedback, this improvement helps golfers confidently align the ball with the club's center.
