The GT3 fairway delivers controlled flight, fast ball speed, and maximum adjustability. It features a refined SureFit Adjustable CG Track System in three loft configurations, allowing fitters to move a sliding weight into one of five positions: H2 (Heel), H1, N (Neutral), T1 (Toe), T2. A taller face distinguishes the GT3 from the GT2, catering to players who prefer hitting down on the ball with a fairway metal and favor the look of a deeper face.
“The first step in our process when we turn to designing the next generation of a product line is Tour feedback,” said Tom Bennett, Titleist Clubs’ Principal Product Manager. “We get a lot of input from [Titleist Director of Player Promotions] J.J. Van Wezenbeeck from his work with Tour players. With GT fairways, our primary direction was to elevate the flight, but not the spin.”
The GT2 and GT3 fairways feature the ultra-lightweight Seamless Thermoform Crown made from the new Proprietary Matrix Polymer, the same material used in GT drivers. This polymer is about five times lighter than steel, offering significant weight savings while maintaining Titleist's classic sound and feel. The seamless crown provides a clean look at address without compromising performance. To meet different CG targets, the GT2 uses more of this polymer than the GT3.
The weight savings from the Seamless Thermoform Crown allowed Titleist engineers to reposition the CG for optimal performance in each GT fairway model. The GT2's CG is lower and closer to the face, resulting in higher launch and lower spin compared to the TSR2. The GT3's CG is positioned deeper, providing higher launch while maintaining low, playable spin.
The GT fairway clubfaces are engineered to boost performance on low-face strikes. A new insert wraps around the bottom of the club, preserving ball speed, reducing excessive spin, and enhancing sound and feel.
The GT2 and GT3 fairways have refined shaping, with a flatter sole curvature from heel to toe, making the head appear lower and enhancing forgiveness on toe and heel strikes. The GT3's face is now taller, based on Tour feedback, differentiating the two models and catering to a broader range of player preferences.
