2023 Mizuno JPX 923 Hot Metal Irons
Posted by Kelly on Jan 25, 2023
Mizuno irons have long been a favorite of tour pros and recreational golfers alike. Known for their soft feel and classic aesthetics, Mizuno JPX irons have something for every level of golfer; low handicap, mid handicap and even beginning golfers can find the right iron in the JPX lineup.
For 2023, Mizuno introduces the JPX 923 iron line. Within the JPX 923 Hot Metal family there are 3 distinct Hot Metal irons: Hot Metal, Hot Metal Pro and Hot Metal HL. All three are built using Mizuno's "V-Chasis." A perimeter weighting that improves both forgiveness and give them a solid feel across a wider area of the club face.
The standard Mizuno JPX 923 Hot Metal Iron is designed for the Mid to High handicapper, looking for a combination of distance, higher launch and a large, forgiving sweet spot. The Hot Metal iron packages all of these game improvement features into a clean looking iron that even a moderate traditionalist can appreciate. It has a slightly elongated blade for more heel to toe forgiveness and a cupped face for increased ball speed. The JPX 923 Hot Metal is an excellent iron for a broad range of golfers.
The Mizuno JPX 923 Hot Metal PRO Iron is the most popular here at Just Say Golf. We sell a lot of these because people love them and Mizuno makes it easy to get them in custom specs. The "Pro" includes many of the game enhancement features of the standard Hot Metal, but it has a slimmer top line and an overall more compact club head. The JPX 923 PRO is also a reduced offset club, so it becomes a bit easier for those who want to shape their shots to do so. In general, the Hot Metal Pro will launch the ball a little lower than it's counterparts; more of a mid trajectory.
Lastly, the Mizuno JPX 923 Hot Metal HL Iron. HL stands for High Launch. It is an excellent choice for moderate to slow club speed players who can benefit from getting the ball higher in the air; or really anyone who would like to hit the ball higher. The HL has the longest blade in the JPX 923 family, for maximum heal to toe forgiveness. The HL is also a popular combo set, with hybrids in the long irons. Once again, Mizuno has hit a homerun with the JPX line. We fully anticipate that the 2023 Mizuno JPX 923 iron family will be the most popular iteration of JPX irons yet.
